The practice that will restore you starting today

When I was a girl, things at home often got complicated. My dad had a very stressful job.He traveled a lot, and as a family, we went through some very challenging times. He had some issues with his spine and digestive system, and Mom accompanied him with her simple wisdom, reminding him of some practices to improve his health, "lie down on the floor."

"lie down on the floor" was actually a lesson from her mother-in-law (my grandmother Pepi, a naturopath, artist, and wise woman).Dad's mother lived almost her entire life in California, a region that saw a boom in natural medicine in the 60s.The phrase of lying on the floor is actually a practice of rest, cellular regeneration, and connection with states of calm.

Tracee Stanley, one of my great teachers and mentors, is currently dedicated to the practice and teaching of Restorative Yoga "Yoga Nidra."In this practice, deep relaxation is explored through various methodologies of breathing, visualization, music...But, broadly speaking, what I take away today is returning, as always, to the essence of simplicity.

In the study group of the Health & Wellness Coaching school I graduated from, we are sharing some data regarding what is causing so many people stress and lack of rest... it's really overwhelming.

In the ongoing training I am doing as a facilitator of Heart Centered with Danielle Laporte, we are having some very powerful meetings to investigate within ourselves and our clients, on an emotional, mental, and spiritual level... no matter where on the planet, as humanity we are all experiencing stress-related situations that we didn't see before.

And the children, oh, our children... how attentive we have to be to the younger generations.Let's reset our decisions and habits, for ourselves, and for them!

From a personal perspective....

Last weekend, I was on a retreat (alone at home) and took the opportunity to put into practice what I know is good for me.And there, while I felt the heat wave of these days and thought about pending tasks, harvesting the garden, organizing closets, batch cooking, and so much more, I indulged myself by lying on the floor and resting.

In this case, it wasn't with any methodology or exercise, but simply throwing myself in without expectations or pressures to achieve anything.

I know that if we are not used to it, this seems strange, or even uncomfortable... but the truth is, we need to PLEASE pay attention to how we are taking care of our body, our mind, and our emotions.

I am finishing a training on mental anxiety at Harvard, and the data we are reviewing is incredible; I mean, unbelievable. There are many factors that are causing increasing anxiety and stress at astronomical levels, therefore, it is necessary for us to pay attention to the small details that make up our daily lives.

Sometimes it's difficult for me to share resources, write to you, or make practices available, because I feel like we are overwhelmed with information about well-being and health. What we need is to put into action what does us good. And for this, we need:

Presence

Consciousness

Maturity

Presence, because being here and now (what we all struggle with the most) is what gives us the focus to maintain attention on what is relevant and important (and the first thing is health).

Awareness because if we are doing things that harm us and we do nothing to reverse it, or we seek out stimuli that are toxic (food, social media, etc.), then we cannot take care of ourselves as we need to.

Maturity because we need to inhabit our current age, let go of the grudges that serve us no purpose, and open our eyes and hearts to embrace whatever does us good today.

And I want to tell you that it's hard for all of us.It doesn't matter where we live, or what our reality is.Things are intense and difficult for all of humanity. The good thing is that we have each other, and that many times, what seems complex or impossible - like feeling good and healthy - actually needs attention, care, and eventually action; whether to understand how we are and how we feel, or directly, to transform habits and customs.

And now, tell me in the comments if you give yourself time to rest and recharge.I'll read you!

Big hug,

Nadia.
